2019 Kaliady in South florida
On January 13, members of the Belarusian-American Association BAZA of South Florida held the 6th traditional kolyadny meeting. During this meeting for children and guests was shown the traditional puppet theater Batleyka "Road to Bethlehem." In which all the decorations and dolls were made by the hands of the participants.
After the performance, the Christmas and new year ceremony "driving a goat" was held, which symbolizes fertility and wealth, and the guests tried to appease and feed her in every possible way, because according to the assurances it brings success and happiness. Then all were invited to a festive table filled with Belarusian meals in which the main place was occupied by rich kutia. Sitting at this table were sung kolyadny and Christmas songs, both in Belarusian, English and French.
Among the Belarusians were representatives of the United States and France, who plunged into authentic Belarusian rites, songs and dances, as well as touched a piece of Belarusian culture and helped to support the traditions of our ancestors.
